the best way to make ISK in eve is to do things you enjoy doing, so you don't get bored and try new things. it may surprise you that said:
/i try to do 3 or 4 things at a time to get more ISK in so mission running and sdalvaging, PvP and ransoms, trading and idiots :) running around low sec and ratting, suicide ganking. during my eve time i started with missions, moved into living in low sec doing ratting, pvp and missions, time in null sec, now a mix of everything.
/ 2 years 8 months. 40ish mil sp.
/ Dominix for missions, obelisk for trading, various for piracy
/ missions is around 20mil/hr including salvage on level 4's i guess, trading can be good passive income when not at PC. PvP can be a bit hard to judge 50 mil ransom one minute, ship popping another.
/ missions, never lost a ship in a level 4, PvP things go pop all the time, ratting, never lost a ship ratting (local is a blessing and a curse. lost plenty of money on bad trades before :)
/ missions is the boring grind, i'm doing a few at the moment as it's easier to "pause" when newborn needs attending too than piracy. trading i do when i need ISK more than because i like it.
/ works well solo or in a group, pvp better in a group of course but flying around solo can be interesting
/ level 4 missions need a BS and a few SP in drones (in my case), trading needs a good float of ISK to start with, shooting stuff is best learnt in frigates and t1 cruisers then move on up to teh shiney stuff.
enjoy eve, it's safe to say there isn't anything else like it.
